Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to the SHEAF Blog.

Despite our best intentions, we're not great at keeping this blog updated with our latest happenings. We are, however, definitely an active group, meeting at least once each week during term time.

If you'd like to make contact with Dunedin home educators, our contact details are in the column, below right.

We send out a weekly email newsletter with details of upcoming events, courses, gatherings etc.

You can also find us on Facebook (page is visible whether you're a facebook user or not)
http://www.facebook.com/SHEAFDunedin

Have a look through this blog to see the types of events we have organised in the past. You'll also find links to other blogs and articles that we find useful or informative, on the off-chance that you'll appreciate them too :~) (Look for these more general blog-posts under the label "Weekend Reading")

If you're not currently on our email list and would like to contact us, please email us at the address you can see in the column on the right. We'd love to hear from you!

Refresh Conference

Note: This conference is not organised by SHEAF - we are passing along an invitation that reached us through the grapevine.

You are invited to our day conference, "Refresh" in Nelson on the 31 October.
You can go to our website to find out more about it. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/newzealand/733591/

We are so looking forward to seeing you there. This is a conference for mothers only, but if you are breastfeeding, you are welcome to come with your baby. This will be a day for you to be encouraged in your homeschooling journey. Looking forward to seeing you. With love from The Refresh Team

Hello from Nelson,
I would like to invite all home educating mums in your area to a conference we are having locally. We would love to meet others who are walking on a similar road. Please be so kind as to circulate this invitation to all your members. Perhaps by car pooling it would cut costs and make it possible. Billets are available. Look forward to hearing from other S Island home schooling mums.
Kind regards,
Karen Dawson
PS please forward this on to any other groups you know of in the S Island. Many thanks.

  1. Is this seriously for mothers only? Not parents? Surely men are not excluded from this conference?

  2. Hi Tanya,

I just emailed the conference organisers to check this for you.

This is a women's retreat particularly for home educating mothers.

For more info, see their website.
